So, who manages to beat this Dark Astral? Tetsuo. Due to some fight with Tetsuo, Yuma's key is knocked from him thus Number 96 takes control of Yuma's body while taking form as a dark version of Astral. Yuma and Astral got a new Number card (Number 96: Dark Mist). He gets saved a week later, but it still shows that he's a badass. Episode 19 - Yuma's dad is hanging off a cliff and cuts the rope around him so that his wife can go on.Also Yuma and Astral speaking together as they take back Hope and defeat Jin.Episode 18 reveals Chaos Number 39 which is essentially the Mid-Season Upgrade for Hope.Especially as in the Japanese version, it's his younger brother's theme he's whistling. whistling as Kaito strolls in, time frozen for everyone except him, the thug (who also has a Number), and Yuma. Number 56's holder is holding up a shopping mall then. Kaito's entrance is between this and Nightmare Fuel.Things did not improve for our heroes from there. The entire duel between Kaito and Yuma, as Kaito easily summoned two Numbers (Illumiknight and Giga-Brilliant) in his first turn.Even talking Yuma into breaking his promise to not use a Number card just so he can take it down. Due to Yuma thinking Kotori has been kidnapped, he's in total serious mode and duels competently without the Numbers or Astral's help (the only advice he needed was how an attack-lock works). Better yet, Yuma comes up with the winning move on his own, since Astral was out of commission. Yuma uses the Baby Tiragon that Tokunosuke sneaked into his deck to defeat him. And despite being presented as an incorrigible Idiot Hero and novice, Yuma came up with the finishing move by himself, showing early on that he's got the potential to become a great Duelist. Following up is the winning combination: Yuma using Hope to attack Leviathan Dragon (whose ATK is higher than Hope's at 3000), only to negate his own attack so that he can double its ATK with Double or Nothing! and cleave through Leviathan Dragon with 5000 ATK. Episode 2's introduction of Number 39 pretty much commands you to cheer as it saves Yuma from the brink of defeat and cuts down Shark's Drill Barnacle.
